Issues: From Zagora, due late start/bad route choice/fatigue/mechanical issues forced a reroute to Ouarzzate vs Boumalne Dades.

Motorway return to Tangers via Casa vs a spirited offroad rip through the atlas.

    Hey Cowboy,
In April we want to make a route similar to yours, but up from Zagora to Tinghir, and crossing the Atlas to Azrou.

What are the problems you encountered in the planned route?

Have you got any problem with the maxitrails in tracks from Boudnib to Merzouga?

I am grateful to share your information

    Hey raw, good idea.

I had intended to return from Zagora north through the atlas, but ran out of time due to numerous self-induced problems. So, a boring return apart from tizi n´tchika.

Boudnib to Merzouga: No real issue with the Transalps here. We rejoined the piste after offpiste leaving the road from a few km west of Boudnib. This is fun, but if you do this, stay on the high ground to avoid all the ditches. At km 557 the piste became too extreme for the transalps. We we had to turn back for a few km, although it was a very scenic detour. The main issue was the unexpected fesh fesh around Hassilablied, tough going after a long day.

For Merzouga-Zagora Obviously research your routing immediately west of Remlia. There are many wikimaps tracks indicating the correct routing which in 2015 was South from remlia then straight across Oued Rheris. We got bogged down in the fesh fesh and needed to hire the guides.

Any more queries let me know.

We travel with a bmw 800, a ktm duke 660 and yamaha tenere 600.

We have experience in enduro, but offpiste is a new sensation.
I think is important to choose a good 'wikitrack'.

    Thanks a lot

Also the first sand we encountered was around the 600km point northeast of Merzouga, it was quite soft so be ready for it. Have a good trip, remember to keep an eye on your fuel :-)
