Though Helvellyn was tempting on such a glorious day we had had a good walk the day before. The trail starts off quiet gradually following the steam down to glenridding. The path upto red tarn is quite busy as many people use it to get to striding edge. It’s also we made for all weathers snd very easy to follow. Red tarn was perfect for a wild swim, refreshing to say the least, possibly a bit nippy on a colder day or earlier in the year. Easy trail to follow back to yha for refreshments
