Exciting hike for people who are not afraid of heights and don't mind climbing some rocks from time to time.
I wouldn't recommend trying this hike alone, without proper gear (hiking boots, hiking poles), in rainy weather or if you are not sure you can handle heights. This hike can be dangerous and a single mistake might cost you a lot.
The hike can be separated into 3 parts which are more or less equal in duration
The hike starts with a paved road with a little incline from the metro to the curve with a small concrete structure on the right from the road after Po Lam Monastery. Right over there the path turns abruptly to the left and the second part begins. It can be described as the dangerous, but fun part. That's where the crazy ascent to the peak begins. It starts in a forest and leads you through tops of some hills to Lantau Peak. The last part of the hike leads you from Lantau Peak down to the Tung Chung road where you can take a bus back to Tung Chung MTR. The last part is mostly paved and has a ton of steps!
