This trail leads to Partam mountain Փարթամ լեռ (the name "Partam" is translated as "lush", "dense").
The height of Partam is 2820 m. (Not to be confused with another Partam summit of Kakatar range in Vayots Dzor region)
It's quite a challenging route if you start from the bottom without using a vehicle.
Here some information about the trail:
- You can get very close to the summit by 4x4, then have a 2-4 hour hike to the summit and back to the car.
- I've mentioned the spot where we left our vehicle.
- We climbed the mountain in mid August, which is not the best season for this area.
The mountain area is typical to Kotayk and Aragatsotn region, so it is too hot there from mid July till mid September
- Best season for Partam starts from mid May till mid July. It's totally green and nature is breathtaking at that period of the year.
In May it can be snowy up there.
- On the way to summit you'll meet yazidis tents and shepherds.
- We hiked up the last part to the top by the range for the view and hiked down joining the old vehicle traces. The way down is more comfy hiking, as the range part was full of rocks.
