Shelter and some info

Well, not exactly a shelter rather a gazebo (but after all it´s a covered area nonetheless).

Lantau Peak

Lantau Peak (Fung Wong Shan, literally "Phoenix Mountain") is the second highest peak in Hong Kong and the highest point on Lantau Island, with a height of 934 metres above sea level. No views at all by the time I reached the summit. Just a thick fog all over the place.

Po Lin Monastery

Po Lin Monastery is a Buddhist monastery, located on Ngong Ping Plateau.

Tian Tan Buddha statue

The statue is 34 metres tall and visitors have to climb 268 steps to reach the Buddha.

Ruins

Some ruins adjacent to the monastery compound.

Ngong Ping camping site

There´s a camping spot nestled just beneath the Lantau Peak massif. There´s aslo another trail that diverts from the main one in order to climb the mountain of Nei Lak Shan.

Po Lam Shi

I accidentally went astray and stumbled upon this monastery hidden in the forest.

A shrine

There many shrines along the trail leading to the valley.

Another shrine

I entered this one to take cover from torrential rain and I have to say, that it was kind of disturbing place. Nevertheless the views of the mountainside must be really amazing on a clear day.

Lo Hon Mon village

I was taking a cover there (it looked like a disused garage), waiting for the rain to fade away. It didn´t.
