Short, easy and fun hike starting from Surprise View car park near Hathersage. We walked down to Owler Tor first, then followed Burbage Brook for a while, crossed the road and made our way up to Carl Wark and Higger Tor. You may need to find your own path and scramble a bit here, but honestly it’s only as hard as you make it. We found relatively easy paths up both formations, even with the kids on our back. After Higger Tor, you walk down via Over Owler Tor & Mother Cap, which makes for a fun walk back to the car park. It’s a little busier here, but it’s a fun stretch through the ferns and rock formations.
