I went up 5km with a scooter, then 6.5km walking.
If you have a good motorbike you could take the road after the bridge (I placed a waypoint) and negotiate a good piece of trail till indicated on another of my waypoints. I only saw that on the way down.
I liked the scenery and the villages.
I did it alone and with sandals, both things NOT advisable of course.
Only for experienced people I would say.
The paved road from the other side is now reaching really close to the summit, maybe 15’ to go by foot.
