Warmish sun (17 degrees +) at about 400 metres + snow melting at 900+ metres = the pools along the River Esk and Lingcove Beck (and lower down the Duddon, if you don't wanna leave the car far behind) are at their deepest (4 metres +) and clearest. And not a soul in sight... even at the weekend. A rare combination in the UK!
