The Oberjosbach Geo Discovery Trail is a circular route in the Taunus mountains that covers around eight kilometers and brings the geological features and landscape history of the region to life. Along the way, there are several stations with information boards and some small models explaining how the Taunus mountains were formed geologically, what types of rock can be found here, and how they were used.
The trail leads through forests, meadows, and past old quarries. The outcrops, where you can see different rock layers directly, are particularly impressive. In some places, there are also references to fossil finds and the formation of the Taunus Mountains. The trail is family-friendly, not too long, and also interesting for children, as the explanations are practical and easy to understand.
