Important: Navigation skills and rock scrambling skills required. Track is overgrown in places, expect to lose the track at times. There are many goat tracks up the side of Mount Castle to the summit, it is very much a case of choose your own adventure. Care needed on the razorback ridge (some 3-5 metre climbing sections) and when ascending and descending the summit. This is a track for more experienced hikers - the categorisation of the track as very difficult reflects the fact there are particular sections that would be potentially dangerous for less experienced or less confident persons.
