Little Doward loop from Symonds Yat — Herefordshire
There is a decent-sized car park at the start point, just off the A40. The route is easy, follow the GPX trail up through the woods to the trig point on a wide, meandering, forest track. There is a little detour to get to it along one of the ridges of the Iron Age Fort. You can come up from the other side by the looks to it to save a short out and back section, but it was overgrown on the day, as was the fort. Go back the same way, or follow my trail back to the start for a bit of variety. It is all simple enough. A pleasant walk.
Parking: There is good parking at the start point. Free.
Route Description: Forest tracks and paths. All decent enough, a bit of mud here and there.
Route Statistics: 3.3 kilometres with 124 metres of height gain done in 50 minutes.
