Descrizione dell'itinerario

Harsnakar ( Հարսնաքար ) is a mountain with an altitude of 2483 m situated in Shirak region, Armenia.
This mountain is one of the symbols of Shirak and if you rambled in Shirak and Lori provinces' mountains a lot, you already know this peak, as you can notice Harsnakar's peak from everywhere.
~~~Some information about this trail~~~
--- This trail is for you if you like rambling in the flat fields most of the time and climbing the mountain only at the end of the trail, as the longest part of the hike is just going closer to the peak.
--- Harsnakar has a rocky summit, so be careful to climb it from the left side, not the right one, as if you approach it from the right side, you may get stuck in the rocks and it will be way more challenging reaching up there.
--- We started our hike from Lernapar village ( Լեռնապար գյուղ ) and return there by the other way, as wanted to check both sides at the trail.
--- You can also hike Harsnakar from Jrarat village ( Ջրառատ գյուղ), which is closer to the mountain then Lernapar village.
ATTENTION:
--- The way up we kept to the left side more than we needed because we wanted to avoid the shepherd dogs there. In May there were no dogs, but in October we met 5 huge dogs in the middle of the hike. Usually they bark and approach while noticing hikers, and generally they are harmless, but they could be playful and curious enough to bother you (we had that bitter experience in October).
So whenever you meet them, try not to panic, never run, speak with them in a friendly, gentle voice and can also take with you some bread to feed them during the way, which will show that you are not hostile towards them.
SEASON:
--- The mountain is very beautiful in May and June, it's fully green and you'll have wonderful views of the landscape and snowy Northern peak of Aragats mountain at that period of time.
--- You can hike it from May till November, summer period after mid June it could be very hot in there, September and October are good months for hikes, after mid November till the end of April the mountain is usually covered by snow.
