The narrow single track road lived up to its reputation as it wriggles its way along Loch Arkaig undulating for 14 miles. Lots of cars already parked up, but a few spaces left.
Set off at 7.40am to head up the estate road towards Glendessary Lodge to pickup the stalkers path heading north across the pass and down into the remote Glen Kingie. We quickly refuelled before ascending 500m directly up steep pathless ground to the col south east of Sgurr Mor before picking up a stalkers path leading to the summit. Followed a path down the south west ridge over Sgurr Beag and left the path to go over An Eag and round to rise again through rocks to the summit cairn of Sgurr nan Coireachan. A very enjoyable section with no real difficulties. We turned west to drop streeply down to a col, before following a path across undulating rocky ground along side a stone wall before finally reaching our third munro, Garbh Chioch Mhor (6h 40m). The final section to Sgurr na Ciche was short with a steep drop to the Feadan na CIche pass, before rising up its craggy face on a steep path to the right of large boulders to reach the summit cairn. Great views west across to the isles and over Knoydart. We retraced our steps to the pass, dropped steeply through the boulder filled gully and headed south east below the crags of Garbh Choich Mhor for 12 km on undulating and intermittently boggy ground and eventually back to the car.
