vicino a Lake Cowichan, British Columbia (Canada)

This hike goes from the trailhead on Cowichan Lake Road, down to Spring Pool and along the Cowichan River to 70.2 Mile Trestle where the Trans Canada Trail crosses the River.

It is mostly a walk in the shade of the mossy forest surrounded by ferns & salal. Once you make the turn at Spring Pool you will be travelling alongside The World Heritage Cowichan River. Sometimes you can only hear it or glimpse it. Sometimes you walk on bluffs above it.

The forest transitions from mostly maple at the start, to mostly fir & balsam to mostly cedar along the river shore.

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 1C.
