Check out the 9km Roses Circuit at Dularcha National Park. Its located between the Sunny Coast Hinterland towns of Mooloolah and Landsborough. You can do the circuit or start your journey from either town and make it a one way trail as we did. We parked at Mooloolah and caught the train on a 6 minute ($4.50) journey to Landsborough. From there, just follow the signs across to the southern entrance to the park. Initially you head along beside the rail line but within 500m take the signed track (Roses Cct) left up into the hills. Its best to have a map as there are numerous trails off to either side of the main track and its easy to get lost. After a few steep sections you end up 300m on top of a rocky ridge. The eucalypt forest along the top makes it difficult to get great views. If you continue north the trail will deliver you down to the 93m long Dularcha Tunnel which was built in 1891. From here its a short 1.5kms back to your starting point in Mooloolah. For more information on this trail, check out our FB hiking site- "Take A Hike-SE Qld".
