A mostly easy walk with some rough cross country paths to get to the Quinish point. Park in town because there's no parking on the road. We parked at the hotel but there's also parking near the post office. Walk through the lovely little town of Dervaig then on a one lane bitumen road for half a km. Then follow the gravel road past some farm houses, through a few paddocks with sheep and cattle. There is an occasional view across the water but generally uninspiring (on the misty rainy day we went). There's a large standing stone in one paddock with a view over the water nearby. Finally (about 4-5 km) get to track through fields, sometimes muddy. There are 2 higher view points at the end with great 360° views over the sound and interestingly shaped hills. We had lunch on the rocky shore, out of the wind. Return the same way with a few variations.
