This is a hike to near the top of the biggest waterfall in the Citala area. You will reach a flat "Lookout Rock" with a great view of the deep canyon and gorgeous cascade. Go to the town of Tuxcueca on the south side of Lake Chapala. Then get on the highway heading for Mazamitla. Finally, follow the track shown here. A high clearance vehicle can make it to the Parking Spot, from which the hike begins. Be prepared for a lot of mud during the rainy season! I am marking this "difficult" only because the first part of the hike is along a straight road filled with either wet or dry mud (or both) and some people have found this monotonous and unpleasant. Once you reach the barbed wire fence, the road turns into a proper trail.
Flat Rock for viewing Citala Waterfall whose height has been estimated by some to be 80 meters and others 200 meters.
Barbed Wire fence, not locked. Close it after you go through!
Not really a good parking spot, as you are likely to block the road if you have several vehicles.
Open Space at top of hill. Cross it and head down the other side to the Lookout Rock.
Turn SE off paved road onto cobblestone road.
