vicino Chalabre, Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées (France)
From this place you have a fantastic view over the Pyrenees Oriëntales including the peaks of Andorra, a view which wil remain with you for a large part of the walk. The views you get until you reach the highest point of this walk at 620 ar extensive and sometimes all around panoramas. The first part of the walk across the heights are mostly through open area although there is almost always some shade to be found nearby.
Once you reach the 600 metres the walk will be quite level for approximately 2,5 kilometres and this is a really beautiful part of this walk. Once you pass the buildings of Roques it is only about 500 metres more before you reach the road, the D620. Shortly before that there is a narrow track to the left, signposted, to a 'point de vue'.
You will have to follow the D620 for almost 1.5 kilometres until you reach a track to the right, shortly before the D620 makes a hairpin to the left. What follows is a track through the woods with hardly any views but the advantage is the cool shade provided by the trees.
Reaching theD620 once again we took a track to the small lake Le Chalabrei and from there followed the GR7a back to our starting point.
