WP11
View of Stonehenge across 2 fences from open access land. There path between the fences has public access but there is no way to cross the first fence from the open access land if you took the path that cuts off the corner. If you continued along the byway to the cross roads then you could get between the two fences. This view is about 100 m from Stonehenge from open access land. It is no longer possible to buy an entry ticket at Stonehenge itself so if you want a closer look, you need to walk 2 km to the new Stonehenge Visitor Centre to buy a ticket. The admission price was 8 GBP in 2013 but in Oct 2019 it costs 19.50 GBP or 17.50 GBP if booked in advance and free to members of National Trust and English Heritage. Having bought a ticket at the Visitor Centre, you would then come back on a shuttle bus to visit Stonehenge before continuing this trail back to Amesbury.
