Descrizione dell'itinerario
Amargéti is an old Village from the time of the Franks and was probably named after Princess Margot to whom the Village belonged to that time. We parked at the village square and walked through the old part of the village to the exhibition room and subsequently to the museum and the church, after which we started our circular walk towards the west. A lovely walk with picturesque views across the fields. During our walk we stopped at the monastery of St Marina. There are currently very interesting excavations. The workers took the time and explained everything to us and served us with a nice Greek coffee. On that field there are two olive trees which I believe are older than 600 and more than 1000 years old, amazing. At the end we visited the Kalamos winery and enjoyed a wine tasting. Early afternoon we had a very nice meal at the restaurant Spring of Life and rounded up our Amargeti visit. The average walking pace was 3 km per hour and not 4.6 km/h and this because we drove with the car from the winery to the restaurant. The walking distance was approximately 7.5 km.
