At about 40km from Beirut, the Shouf Biosphere reserve is the largest nature reserve in Lebanon. With an area of almost 450km2, it represents about 5% of the country's surface!
Technically it was an easy LONG hike of 24.38 km. with an ascend/descend of 764 m.
The hike connected Barouk and Ain Zhalta cedar forests. Most of the hike was on a dirt road. Beside crossing two cedar forests half of the hike have a view over the Bekaa, and the other half was over the Shouf.
