St. Augustine Long Loop

Initially I thought about calling this trek “walking in a time of Coronavirus” but that’s too tacky. This extended trek through suburbia started at the south gate of the University of the West Indies St. Augustine campus. This is located along Watts Street at 10.63791°N and -61.39927°W. Proceed heading west along Watts Street until 10.638578°N and -61.402796°W then head north and west along Evans Street to Curepe Junction at 10.649435°N and -61.409448°W. Then continue heading west along the Priority Bus Route to Mt. Hope Junction. I exited the Priority Bus Route at the tunnel located at 10.650349°N and -61.423340°W and did the loop around the entrance to the St. Joseph Integrated Health Facility and the Mt. Hope Hospital.
I walked east along the Eastern Main Road right to Curepe Junction and then north along Riverside Road located at 10.650068°N and -61.409519°W. Then I walked east and south along Gordon Street starting at 10.651531°N and -61.409494°W and then east along Warner Street at 10.648719°N and -61.397441°W. I crossed St. John’s Road at 10.648540°N and -61.395958°W and continued heading east and then south along Connell Street at 10.648920°N and -61.395907°W. I walked south along Auzonville Road at 10.646938°N and -61.394387°W and then east along the Eastern Main Road at 10.644927°N and -61.394585°W.
Follow the Eastern Main Road heading east right through Tunapuna. Be careful with irate drivers that have absolutely no respect for the laws of the road. Additionally, the sidewalks are in a state of disrepair so caution has to be exercised. I followed the Eastern Main Road through Macoya and El Dorado right through to Tacarigua and Arouca. Through Tacarigua it might be worth your while to stop at St. Mary’s Anglican Church located at the corner of the Eastern Main Road and Orange Grove Road at 10.644687°N and -61.367899°W.
I turned about at Five Rivers Junction located at 10.639178°N and -61.349379°W and headed west along the Priority Bus Route. This roadway is extremely busy with maxi taxis and sometimes private cars and extreme caution should be taken along here. I went as far as Macoya Junction located at 10.644010°N and -61.382001°W and then headed south along Macoya Road. I turned heading west at the junction with the Churchill – Roosevelt Highway located at 10.638769°N and -61.382395°W. I then walked west along the Churchill – Roosevelt Highway as far as the walkover at Pasea Extension Road located at 10.637550°N and -61.389662°W. From here I walked south along Pasea Extension Road and at 10.634502°N and -61.390854°W headed west along Orange Grove Trace until 10.634758°N and -61.394328°W.
I headed south along Stratham Lodge Road until 10.633569°N and -61.394465°W and then turned heading west along Orange Grove Road. Turn heading north along College Trace at 10.634455°N and -61.399355°W. Crossing the Churchill – Roosevelt Highway at 10.636075°N and -61.399332°W takes you back to the starting point.
