Start your engines (and maybe grab one last macchiato in Shkodër) — this route will take you from the bustle of the city into the jaw-dropping serenity of the Albanian Alps. The road to Theth is an iconic 4x4 climb: expect twisting mountain switchbacks, gravel tracks, and scenery so good you’ll forget you’re still driving.
Along the way, you’ll meet friendly locals, the occasional goat traffic jam, and more photo stops than your camera battery can handle. The views open up spectacularly as you gain altitude, with deep valleys, towering peaks, and that unmistakable alpine crispness in the air.

• Best done in a proper 4x4 — this is not the place to test your city hatchback’s limits.
